    Re: Floyd or Vintage?

I like the idea of the vintage trem, but I cannot bring myself to buy a guitar with one. I prefer Floyds/Kalhers (kinda equally at the moment). If the bullseye s-head re-issue has a floyd, I think I would be real tempted.

I also agree that the new Charvels are really being marketed to the 30-50 year old (the majority of whom will probably never buy one).

IMHO Floyd is the only way to go if you play live. I have several Jacksons and 1 Charvel - all have Floyds because when you're drinking heavily at a gig, the last thing you want to deal with is a shit whammy bar taking your axe out of tune every time you touch it. I bought one of the guitarxpress Charvel re-issue Bullseyes with a Floyd and it rocks.

I'm 36 and basically started playing on Floyd equipped Kramers in the late 80's so that's what I'm comfortable with. I understand the "classic" appeal of the vintage trem, but I think they're basically unusable for live gigs.
