Back in 1992 i visited some friends in so-cal living in anahiem. They had some japaneese freinds in hollywood that had some killer san dimas charvels. My question to Toru is, do know a guy name keisuki who lived in hollywierd in 1992?Do you know a guy named Rich Toler? The reason i ask is, i was going through some old pics and noticed that the marc diglio/mick mars prepro charvel is being played by my friend at keisuki's apartment. He also had a two hum, white strathead.I AM positive its the same one because it has the 5-way switch in the same place and the fretboard looks to be the same one as well.I remember toru saying the tone knob was added after the neck pickup.Dude, this has to be the same one.I will see if a buddy can scan the pic so you can see it.

Yes, Kei is my friend who used to live in Hollywood apartment on Highland/Sunset and I used to visit him often back in 90-93.
That is where I got that prepro guitar and so many Charvels in So. Cali ended up in his apartment.

He modified the guitar with the neck pickup and 3way switch.
I later sold it to a guy in Santa Monica.
He also had some interesting stuff but don't remember the name of the guy.

Kei had just too many Strathead Charvels.
He also had Jake's Gold Sparkle Jackson, some of Doug Aldrich Jackson, couple of Joe Holmes's Jackson, and many others owned by pros.
Trans Blue,Trans Red, Trans Green,White,Black,Green,Purple Red, on and on.
I used to buy from him and also sold him a lot.

He lives in Tokyo now.

Chrome floyd, added switch, maple strathead, Yep, its the same one for sure. You can tell the red is starting to fade.I do recall that keisuke said it was owned by a rock star, but i dont recall which one he said.He also owned a white marshall that belonged to Via and a refridgerator rack full of gear(VHT 2150 POWER AMP).

I also remember that he was a HUGE jake e lee fan, was going to G.I.T. and was telling his dad that git was a four year college.Either Ive hanged out with toru, or you bought the guitar from kesiukeOr your the same guy.I cant imagine the same guitar was passed around between that many people in '92.Man, i am trippin.

White Marshall was a modded by Bogner or Mike Morin.
He had a JCM Marshall that was owned by Vai and used on Eat'em and Smile tour.
I bought it from him for like $500.
Refrigirator Rack was set up by Bradshaw and he had a Purple VHT2150, Morin preamps,Alesis Quad,BBE,Hush,Furman,ADA MP1 and soem other.
I bought that whole rack and took it with me to Japan when I decided to move back to Japan.
He did guraduate from GIT and he is a KILLER player and a HUGE Jake fan.
He is also the one who bought the ESP Jake guitar that was sold at local store on Sunset that belonged to Jake and was featured on Young Guitar mag.
See Thru White one.
He bought it for like $600 and he sold it to me for the same price... I ended up selling at Sunset Custom..
Well... Great time of my life for sure!
I even bought a Soldano owned by Eddie Van Halen for $1000.
It had serial # 5150 and bought it from a guy name Bret Woods who recorded an album at 5150 studio and later ended up playing with Vince Neil after Steve Stevens quit..
Eddie gave a head to Bret.
Talking about Steve Stevens, Kei once told me he bought several Lexicon units from Steve Stevens.
He placed a watned AD in the recycler newspaper and Steve called Kei.
Crazy time of my life. so much going on...
It will NEVER happen!

Yep, im looking at the purple vht in the pic.Jeez, the last we heard of Kei was he loaded up his whole aprtment into a moving van(might have been moving) and had to hide in the back of the van with his gear during the rodney king riots. That was the last Rich had heard about him,I always wondered what happened to him.Glad to hear he's doing good.

That night in little tokyo was amazingly funny. We got to do some kereoke with Kei.It was a song sang in japaneese except the chorus that went "bright lights Big city".Too funny.Five drunk long haired guys singing out of key to a song weve never heard before!Good times indeed.

Re: dinkyjacksonman & charvel junkie

He moved to NY in mid-late 90's then ended up moving back to Japan.
He lives in Tokyo and not sure what he does for living but last he told me he was working with Doug Aldrich when Whitesnake went to tour over there.
He was selling bunch of Fulltone pedals that Doug used after the tour.
Also I think he works for a large company importing musical instruments such as amps and pedals.
I don't think he still owns these Charvels.
I bought severals from him and he told me the Green one I bought from him was the very last one and was his favorite.
I think he plays Suhr Guitars now after I convinced him to play Suhr..

Yea, the 5digit Prepro body/plat with 22fret neck from 83 I think.

Yea, I would LOVE to see the video!
Something real funny was he never cared other people living in the same Apartment building and played real loud.
Even in the morning like 2-3am, He would play his Marshalls real loud.
