$2k shipped huh? That doesn't seem too bad. I'd be more worried about the international aspect than parting with the cash. I guess I need to do some more poking around here (I'm new). But I'd expect to pay more than that. I hope some of you guys are selling US Charvels under $2k. I'm curions DinkyJackson, what do you think that guitar is worth?... pretending that the seller is in the states.
That guitar could easily fetch $1200 in that condition with what looks like ebony and the matching headstock from a collector, but becuase of the Kalher (many feel this is a neg.) and relatively common color, alot of guys would have an issue paying much more than that IMHO (I understand that "pinky" as recently seen on the bay, which was in similar condition with the factory floyd sold for around $1300+/-, but factory floyds are relatively rare on SD Charvels and therefore are in more demand).
Still a very cool guitar.
"I''ll say what I'm gonna say, cuz I'm going to Hell anyway!"
You guys are a fountain of information. I'm learning so much. I haven't touched a guitar with a Kahler in years. But, I absolutely hate Floyds because string changing is such a pain. I don't remember having any trouble with the Kahlers I owned back in the day. That's why my current guitars are string-through. I really misjudged the Charvel market though. I didn't realize that a eighties Charvel could be had for under 2.5k or so.
you just messed a great deal, our very own Monte sold a super cool Charvel pointy (all original and matching painted headstock) for $1k. So yeah you can find them reasonable priced.
