  • Maple Pre Pro

Here is a cool Charvel that I just grabbed this week.
The headstock was actually sanded or sawn to a point....like a spear. It was restored by GMW...of course.

    Hope you like it

As usual, very very impresive. Sounds like the headstock was really f'ken up. What was Lee's turn around time of the restore to the headstock (that little chip on the back of SD 2900 bothers me just enough to maybe send it off to him).

            Re: Maple Pre Pro

very cool and a rare one Monte. The Charvel necks with that style woodburn are dated from 1979. I suspect the correct logo for that guitar would be a small Gold logo with no Made in USA.

Super nice Monte..and agree with others about it being a great restoration..bummer it was so modified but good to see her GMW'ized back to what she was. Very cool.

GMW must be the restore master. I can't believe someone destroyed the headstock like that. Got any before pics?

                  Re: Maple Pre Pro

                  Thanks guys.
I guess back then no one knew what that these would be worth anything 26 years later...so the guy made a harpoon for himself....go figure.

The work was done about 2 years ago...according to the seller.

The green/blue finish was taken off and the headstock repaired.

The only think I would do is have Lee cap the back of the headstock too in order to hide the multiple tuner holes and then get some era correct tuners and a more correct logo...and then it is done.

                  Thanks again guys

P.S. Only 2 or 3 more GMWs coming in this year and that is it...I am TRYING to not buy anymore guitars this year and focus on playing....I said TRYING!!! hahaha

One more thing...Thank you Chuck and Tracy for helping me identify it.
And also Kevin for helping me determine which trem would be correct.

                        WOW!
                        Another killer guitar!

It looks like you are receiving so many guitars since the new year started!!!

Now I can't wait to see the ones you will be receiving soon.

                            Re: Maple Pre Pro

I swore to Kevin and Chuck that I would not buy any in 2005 and maybe scale down a few....but look what happened.

It is an addiction. I honestly have guitars that never see the light of day and are mint.

I really do want to dedicate myself to playing more
