Welcome whoever you are, Jacksonguy. And thanks for the cool info.
I wish this place were friendly enough to the folks who work at J/C, that they didn't feel the need to hide their identities and/or just be lurkers.

Thats what comes from some of the negativity and bashing of the company that goes on publically. In some instances when FMIC drops the ball then it might be deserved.. there are a lot of times on this forum people bitch ust to bitch and it trickles back to the guys making the product.. so how do you think it makes em feel?
Bottom line is you never know who is watching ..make sure your posting fact and not fiction or simply .. you own opinion without proper proof ..
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes!~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~
More often than not, the J/C/FMIC bashing that happens here is way undeserved. Oftentimes, not even based in fact. Total even. To be fair, though, every once in a while, they're just gonna have to take their lumps. (...I could probably count on one hand, though, the situations when that's been warranted.)
As I said, though, 90% of the time, it'd totally undeserved. And I imagine that's why most of them don't advertise their presence. I might do the same, were I in their shoes. I only wish the environment here weren't like that, and they could feel OK about "being public".
From a business side of things you may want just to be a lurker (not known) so you don't get people blowing smoke up your ass, that way you can get a more realistic view. This is common in industry and often an outside person will come in and simply observe.
Sorry to question the information Jacksonguy. But I have faith in sully and kev so Jacksonguy must be posting valuable information. Thanks for the great info.

I posted after your question regarding Jacksonguy...but agree great info and a pleasure seeing Jacksonguy visit
FWIW There were less than 100 Charvel guitars and basses produced with the engraved neck plates. Of this small quantity, some had PO Box 215 listed and some had PO Box 245. All of these were hand built by Mike Shannon. The Charvel USA Standard models with 3D neck plates are "team built" by the Jackson/Charvel crew. These are still great guitars, but obviously the ones with the engraved plates have some added value!!
Anyone who is not buying a Charvel because it has an engraved neck plate instead of the 3D plate is crazy. They are leaving the door wide open for collectors to have first shot at what are basically modern "pre-pro" Charvel guitars. You will not find Mike Shannon built guitars with list prices starting at $1999.99 ever again.
Wow, maybe the collectors will start going after these modern prepros and leave some of the original SD guitars for the rest of us. (I can dream cant I)

If we make a legitimate screw up, we're more than willing to take the blame. Some of us have tried to correct previous misconceptions, only to be told we were wrong and didn't know what we were talking about by a member who was spouting complete BS.
I can assure you that whatever info I post on here about Jackson or Charvel is 100% accurate. Kev and Sully can also back me on that. I can't post or monitor on here regularly, but if something comes up, I'll do my best to clarify issues, questions of problems.
Just so you know, EVERYONE here at Jackson/Charvel want our products to be "correct" and capture the vibe/essence of the original models. We're doing the best we can and getting better every day!!
