Charvel 3-D Neck Plates

Have the Charvel 3-D neck plates come out yet? Any word? I want to order a custom or EVH Charvel but I want it with the neck plate.

Not yet, word was 8 mos min. last August time frame. IF you order you guitar now, it will be at least a year till you actually gte it and you can ask them to ship it with a 3D plate and apparently they will.

Not sure of the exact time frae but they were indeed on the NAMM guitars. I cannot say which plates were on the EVH sereis but I'd tend to beleive that has a special EVH art plate one it and not the 3d plate

Cool. I was kinda worried that by specing the 3D plate I would hold up my CS, good to hear that this will be a non-issue now (now if they could only clone Dan L.!)

The EVH have special engraved plates. Hey Kev is the new 3D plates, black and chrome in color like the pic you posted over on CC awhile back.

I asked about getting a 3D plate for my new Charvel but was told that it would not be possible as the plates are prestamped (thus hard to redo the serial I already have).

Damn ..That was going to be my next question. That's why I will never order another guitar from Guitar Asylum again. It took me two years to get this custom Charvel and I specifically wanted that 3-D plate.I would have payed more even now to get that plate on there. Anybody have pics of new guitars with the plate?

I will post some pics of this custom Charvel when I get the chance. How do you guys get a cpoy of your work order from Charvel? DO they still do that?

Unfortunately Jackson no longer gives out work order info BUT I know that for the NAMM guitars often the dealers have copies of the work orders.

In your specific case I would assume your dealer (Guitar Asylum) has a copy of the work order they faxed to Jackson.

There were only 50 or 60 units made with the engraved Charvel neck plates. Some say PO Box 215, some say PO Box 245. The Charvel models displayed at NAMM had a mix of engraved and 3D neckplates. Now the 3D neck plates are being used exclusively (except on the EVH Art Series, which have their own special plate). Those of you with the engraved plates now have "rare" pieces (think "pre-pro"). In the future, these will probably be worth more $$ due to the rarity of the plates. So, those of you with engraved plates should rejoice that you have them. Also, FYI....all of the Charvel models with the engraved plates were hand built by Mike Shannon. Only a few dealers have these, so get them while you can!!!!

Who told you that? I assume someone "in the know", judging by your posts that I´ve seen, Just wondering who so that we can judge "just how deep into the hole he can crawl". Assuming that´s not confidential or any sort of trust breach.
