hoss I have the thick brass one up there - it is the first one...I also have the thin black (no marking prepro one) and it needs to be added..working on the other ID sections so check back often

There are 2 types, the thin that you have as the first one, and I know were originally used, but I have seen double thickness on some as well. I do not know if they were original but it seems so. For example the Jeff Beck Hotwheels has a double thick one.
The thin neckplates function fine I do not see why it would be changed.. Also some were painted black as you mentioned.
