  • where are all the orignal Charvel employees?

does anyone know where all the original Charvel employees ended up...we know some stayed (some went to Fender).

Related are the main Jackson guys the original main Charvel builders?

I apologize if this topic has been raked over before; if it has can someone kindly point me to the thread/info. Thanks. Cheers

Dan L is kinda sorta with GMW (he still does contract work for Jackson/Charvel).

Dan does the Jackson stuff independent of GMW .. He also isn't one of the original employees ..albiet he does have quite a bit of history with Jackson .. super nice guy too .

          Re: where is

BTW Funny story .. I was interested in restoring a gunmetal grey charvel to its original color and @ NAMM we asked Dan what the color mixture was and we were told the funny things.. there were none back then..they just mixed it till it looked good .. so it's safe to assume that even in the early guitars there aren't many GMG that probably match each other

            Re: where is

we should try and track down all the original members and start matching names with faces...the cool picture with all the employees holding the guitars.

Kinda goes to what Kevin (83SanDimas) was asking about matching initials found in neck pocket with employee names.

              Re: where is

I have been on that for a year plus. Alot of the employees on that picture were not there long (so forgotten)- I have sent copies to a couple old employees stated above and Grover also saw it to add names..

thanks Hoss....I asked a few people too but it seems alot of people have foggy memories from that time period...lol

I always wondered for example if the initials "SS" (on early Charvels) and "SVS" found written on later Charvels was from the same employee

That paint story is cool! Ya know, my four platimun pink San Dimas Jacksons were not 100% identical when placed next to each other. Neither were the three Ferarri reds I had at one time.

                    Re: where is

Actually if you compare the yellow on the balck and yellow EVH Charvels there is also a difference...especially between later and earlier (see for example #1556 on my site and #3290 on my site).

Cool info man! I will check that out. I noticed in pics some yellows were brighter than others, but figured it was in the pic itself.

I thought he went back to the 81-82 time frame of Charvel before Jackson really took off (I admit I could be wrong on that), but as for "Dan does the Jackson stuff independent of GMW", ah... that is the connotaction of the phrase "contract work".
