Charvel strat head neck!

Hear I have a Charvel Strat head neck. Have you guys seen one like this before. There is the Charvel waterslide, then there is a waterslide with 83, then the waterslide that say’s Fast Road. The Charvel is definitley original. The other two appear to be original as well. What are your thoughts?

This neck came off of a ghost flame strat that Mike Stone from Queensryche used to have. Mike bought the guitar in the early 80’s( not sure if it was new or used when he bought it), then sold it to a buddy. Then a mutual friend bought it from him. Now it is in my possession, minus the guitar body.

The other decals "83" and "Fast Road" I doubt are original, the neck is legit (and tuners) but those extra stickers/decals are not.

I Agree with gtrbuyer 100% - Those other stickers are not original. Looks like someone sanded the heals some? not much just enought to remove the WO numbers and intials?? maybe jsut smugged.. Hard to tell.
Nice neck I like the bone nut. Looks like maybe they modded the body for a kahler at one time (looks like a locking nut was installed once - extra screw holes)- Looks Great though - Congrads Nice neck. Early 80's neck.. My 0.02 cents

is that a bone nut, or an earvana nut? if it's a bone nut, it looks cracked up.

Yeah it is cracked up looking for sure. Not sure Sully could be earvana. The cracking is why I thought bone.

There was a repair done on the nut between the B and the E. It looks to be bone. Those other decals look to be under the finish. That's what is weird about them. They look original. Maybe it was an employee guitar at one time?

Looks legit to me,the other waterslides were probably clear-coated over after being added!!Nice neck!!

Clear Coat added later - Maybe even an atempt to keep the original Charvel Decal from coming off - I have seen that happen more than once. Those other Decals I have never see or heard of before. Neck also looks earlier than 83 (I said looks) Could be wrong. Did you notice the rare sloted posts on those gotohs???? They usually have a hole instead of a slot. It also looks refretted at one time (hard to tell from here).

What would the market value of this neck be? I am thinking of selling it, but do not know how much to ask.

Actually Hoss the slotted Gotohs came after the ones which had the hole. From my experience the nonslotted style tuner (I refer to them as type 1) are found on prepros and very ealry serialzied Charvels...the slotted ones (type 2) came later in the serialized production run and used for a short period of time. Agree that those tuners are probably prior to 1983!!

I am writing that section (tuners) for my site now...so check my site out in a week or two for more details

Value...last neck on ebay (rosewood 22 fretter) sold for $850....the tuners on your neck are usually fetch $200 MINIMUM and the neck will bring good money. Good luck.

you may want to have the frets done first, though; in one of the pic, it looks like there's a lot of fret wear (string grooves, etc). then again, it could have just been the pic.

do you not like the neck? just wonderin why you'd want to unload it. heh, then again....it's also none of my beeswax.

I love the neck! The frets are still pretty descent. The reason for the sale is simply "I need the cash". Hence the closet sale part 1 and this possibly.
