• SD Forensics Experts - got a live one here

Ok, some of you have probably seen it and denounced it, but here goes:

Can you verify this as being at least "almost certainly" a San Dimas Star?

I asked for a pic of the back of the body - control cavity and bevels - so hopefully I'll have those soon.

Note the brass neckplate. I also asked if it had the Charvel logo and serial #.

While I'm certainly no expert, I would expect that the Floyd install is aftermarket, though it's not a hack job as far as I can see in the closeup. It does appear to be slightly recessed, which is obviously not factory.

Nice neck, for sure, but you guys know more about the logo placement than me.

It's going for $1250, but if it's just a Warmoth kit or other non-Charvel mutt, I'll pass if they won't come down - or I'll order a new one

Did the maple/maple necks have skunks? I thought it was only the maple/ebony and maple/rosewood?

That guitar screams tommy. Not because of the reverse headstock(hi fave) but the fact that its over priced and a fake.lol.

I think it looks killer but not 1200 killer.

Freedom Guitar in San Diego has this correct...parts mutt...I called on it about a month back.

Added Floyd, body looks legit but modd'd..plate robbed and wrong neck.

                  Tracy - yup, Freedumb guitar

I really hate that the plate was missing - I coulda used the $600 it'd bring on Ebay

I'll see if they'll come off the price given that the neck is not a Charvel (but still pretty), and the body has been extensively modified.
Not that I NEED another guitar

                    $2800, not a penny more.

Hmm, looking at the pics more closely, I see it IS a blank plate. I thought at first it was laying upside down (serial hoarding), but you can see the recesses for the bolts.

I agree, thats what I thought when I first saw the heel pic (I have a ebony/maple birdseye Warmoth neck just like that on a custom str@t).

There is something that is confusing me - see the strip of wood on the neck heel? It came out of the pocket. If you look close you can see the same pattern missing from the pocket.

Almost like someone glued the neck in at one point.Either that or its some kind of shim?
