My new Charvel Standard arrived today, and it is exactly what they represent it to be. It looks, feels, and plays just like an old Charvel. I've only played two of the older guitars (1985 and a 1987), and the neck it dead on. Great fretwork, it has nice low buzz free action. The pickup is a logoed Duncan TB14. I guess it's a cross between a Custom Custom and Custom 5. It is pretty hot, but has a vintage thing going on as well. I've been a Dimarzio guy, but these pickups sound very good to me. Great clarity and harmonics. A few neat things that I wasn't prepared for: G&G case, brass strap buttons, blocked Floyd (It sits off the body about an 1/8 of an inch), and a old school San Dimas neck plate! Pretty cool. The guitar was expensive, but overall, I'm very pleased... very nice! Like I stated earlier, if you're into the old Charvels, I highly doubt you will be dissappointed! After very close inspection, I've found no imperfections of lack of attention to detail. It is defintely in the same league as the PRS CE24 I just bought. Some pics:
