EVH painted it Red because according to him a company was copying his guitars a.. That of course was probably being Charvel mfg. and according to EVH the new uncool owner --- meaning Grover Jackson..??
But, on the 79 tour he had both the B/Y and the repainted RBW.. That does not add up??? He must have seen copies of the B/W because he left the B/Y with original paint although he did stop using it after that tour. But the majority of the Charvel models were B/Y...and that color was pictured on the 3nd record.
