• Two Charvel parts monsters completed

I just completed my latest Charvel parts projects & I'm very pleased with the results.

First is a trans blue strathead. The neck came from DJROBA on the JCF....its a nice fat & full profiled 1 & 3/4ths...very comfortable. The body is a NOS Dimarzio (Charvel built)body factory finished in transparent blue over ash. Trem is a Stars guitar high mass. Pickup is a double creme Duncan JB.

Next is the Ojeda Bullseye that I bought from Monte. I rebuilt it to my liking using some parts that I had.

The body is an original 82 San Dimas that was refinished by Big Head Guitars. I scored the neck on ebay a while back....it has a thinner profile to it & some nice birdseye. Pickups are Seymour Duncan.....an EVH in the bridge & an Alnico Pro II in the neck (matches up nicely with the EVH). The bridge is a Double Eagle....I do plan to replace it with a more appropriate one eventually.

The bullseye looks great, but you have to do something with that trans blue finish! Please get her refinished please

              They both look really nice.

In general, do the parts guitars go together well, or is some finessing necessary with a knowledge of which parts work well together? I guess I'm asking how uniform the parts are.

Re: Two Charvel parts monsters completed

You can still special order double creme Duncans in just about any model.....Duncan has to ship them with a cover on them though....usually they don't even solder the cover on when you order them this way.

As for parts guitars & how they fit together....inevitably yes there is a little "finessing" needed, but if you're using the right parts.....Charvel bodies & Charvel necks.... the fit is pretty good.....& like wise with parts that are made to the correct specifications.

That Ojeda does look better with that neck.
