Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

Mmmmm I don't know about that Kevin, Maybe your are right. I bet if you e-mailed Lynn Ellsworth on this issue he would set the record straight on who's route it really is! LOL

That boogie on the ebay auction has a tottaly different comfort bevel

Look at the matching guitars I posted from Neals site. They are the same body except for the Route

Aside from the boogie myth, why do you doubt it, in light of the pictures above...?

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

Oh I know the one on eBay is different, I just posted that as a way to get a hold of Mr. Ellsworth. Yeah Neals site...Alot of mixing and matching there! Which is no biggie. Let's face it..Wayne was buying parts from different sources when he first started. I'm sure there's someone out there that could set us straight on it Kevin. It Was Eddie's black & Yellow that had this style route right? Which came from Charvel..So maybe you are right. I don't know anymore....I'm sooooo confused. HAHA

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

It is confusing and yes the neals guitars are parts, But... the 2 bodies with exact matching woodwork with the 2 different routes makes for an excellent case...

What is your 23 tite like, do you have a picture of the back?

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

I lost the auction. It was hidden in another auction for a hondo guitar and I thought I was going to get it cheap. I should have bid more. I just wasn't 100% sure it was a charvel or I would have bid more. I've been sick all day about it. I was second High bidder. 83SanDimas, I'm the guy who sold you the chrome looking San Dimas neckplate on ebay a couple of weeks ago.

here is the link where I lost the auction.

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

Kev, The 3 Tite Body I have has a San Dimas Route. My Offset Bullseye has the "other route" as I call it the BB route. The only bodies that I have ever seen with different woods like the ones Neal has were in old Boogie Bodie / Mighty Mite catalogs from 1977-1980. Don't forget that Wayne use to buy there parts if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

True

It is possible he bought body blanks and did final shapes and routes, however I have only seen the neeal ones as Charvel or Dimarzio

I do love your 3 tite, is it a san dimas?

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

Kevin, What makes you say that the guitars from Neal's are Charvel or Dimarzio? Just curious.... I was in the Music Retail business from 83 to 95 and Dimarzio never started selling bodies or necks till 84 or 85 if I'm not mistaken and they only sold them for 1 or 2 years and got out of it.

The 3 Tite body I have is supposedly a Leftover that was never completed. It's going to be a beauty when I'm done with it. I'll forwards pics when completed.

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

Charvel made bodoes that were sold by Dimarzio in 79-80 or so and later they sold similar bodies made in Japan or elsewhere, here is the back of my "Dimarzio" This guitar has Dimarzio Strat on the headstock..

Re: Question about Charvel/ Boogie Bodies

Here is a pic of the guitar player in my bands Pre-pro Black and Yellow. He bought it used back in 82 I think he said. It has the same back route as the red one in the auction.
He has a Kramer neck on it now but still has the original neck too (pictured). He's played it as his main guitar and still does so its beat up.

Man, I really wanted that body...:-(

Mmmmm Very Interesting to say the least! Ronnie, That route on the black and yellow is the same route my Bullseye has. I'm going to try to find out who's route that really is.
