Van Halen Pre Pro Pic from around 83 or so

Here's a pic I found somewhere on the web a few years ago. Its Lillian Axe a few years before they got signed. This was his main guitar back then. I used to drool over this guitar at a club called "Town Creek Saloon" back in Jackson Mississippi around 83 to 86 when I left town for the road.

They used to gig up and down the Gulf Coast.I've seen them a bunch and talked to Stevie several times.Nice guy and a pretty good guitarist.They are playing in Houston tommorow night.I actually remember seeing that guitar at Cardi's(Damn,I am gettin old) [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]...............................

I think you are right,Mike. Cardi's was a blast. I saw Yngvie there when he first came to the US. Walked to the stage with the guitar on his shoulder like he was gonna dig a ditch or chop some wood.Plugged in and shocked the crowd! One of the coolest intros I ever saw........................

yes, i mentioned that guitar on here a few times, and i knew stevie back in "the day"...he played that guitar all over new orleans in the early 80s. i tried to buy it from him, many of us did :-)

i heard that he eventually sold it right off the stage to some guy who had been bugging him about it for years. the guitar was pretty trashed at that point....but it's still gotta be out there somewhere!
