No those auctions were out of my league (over what i value the guitar to be worth) but I always loved this pic..I think it went for $20k or so.

Apparently, Ed got pissed on stage at the last show of the tour and trashed it, all i know. I believe that to be the case, Phoenix perhpas?

See I remember reading a few reports about Eddie trashing a couple of guitars (just missing Sammy in one case) and then pointing at Sammy and Mike, saying "They're the Kings now" but I'm surprised that if it did actaully happen it didn't get publicised more....

That's what I heard as well, the last night of the tour and the guitar above was the one trashed. I'm fairly certain that story is good.

Oh ok. I remember reading about him smashing two guitars on the last show of the tour. It was unclear at the time whether he was angry, drunk, or if it was pre-planned (there was a rumor that his publicist was hinting at something before the show).

I never heard any confirmation one way or another what the real story was. Everyone does seem to agree that he smashed two guitars and that he nearly hit Sammy Hagar and some audience members. [img]/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]
