Re: Guitars in the kitchen

This is awesome. I have a new inspiration to buy a house now. Guitars in the kitchen - what could be better?

Tracy, what do you do about dust and humidity? Maybe that's just a Houston thing, but everything I leave out looks like ass in 3 months. I was going to invest in a HEPA air purifier and a dehumidifier. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the pix. Not just of the cool navy-camo but for all of them. Killer photos and a great collection.

Clearly, Brett and Trace dont have brood running around. Everything of mine stays cased when not in use due to my 4 and 2 year old gnomes. I left my LP out last wekend for a few hours, and when I got back to it that nite, it was in drop c. As a matter of fact, I think all six were tuned to c...

What a fantastic collection! And the photos are all the proof I need that a precedent HAS been set for a house with a six string theme........................

Yeah the dust sucks here too Brett but I just bite the bullet and give them a dusting every now and then.

Humidity is not too bad (I have 3 or 4 problem ones - where the neck move drastically) but 95% are pretty consistent and I can play them year round without any major tweaking.

I try and play all my guitars over time. It is a great way to make sure everything is up and running smoothly. Plus it reminds me to dust and tweak them periodically.

                  Visitor to the guitar room...

I had the great pleasure of hangin' and jammin with our very own JCF member, Neilli (Ian) yesterday afteroon. It was a fun afternoon and I hope you had a good flight back home (to the UK).

Here is a picture of Ian tuning my "Shine" Star. I make everyone that visits to either tune or dust a Charvel of their choosing....just kidding!!

Tracy: I had an awesome afternoon, thankyou so much for your hospitallity......don't tell the wife, but it was the highlight of the trip!

Guys: as you've all seen, Tracy's collection is astounding....I got to play a decent number of the guitars you've seen and all I can say is 'Wow': I am (was?!) mainly a Jackson guy, but if I coulda walked out with one guitar, it'd be the maple board, reverse head blood drip Charvel strat - That just felt so good and looked damn cool in the flesh!

Thanks again Tracy - you're a true gentleman!

Keep the "true gentleman" part quiet Ian. I got a bad ass, trouble causing reputation to protect ya know....

Here is another pic of Ian with the Charvel he liked. Once again it was great hangin with ya (beats work) and I still have not figured out how to play "Desire" by Ozzy yet. I can not get it to sound like when you played it!!

Yep: I figure that I'm never going to find one myself, and liked that one so much I've been pouring over the on-line Charvel catalogue to see how much I can get a 'son of' for, even if they don't offer a Kahler.....

That would be cool...if you are ever in my neck of the woods give me a shout and we will get those two bad boys together for a photo.

The graphic on your Jackson is it painted or a picture? Very cool regardless..can ya post a close up pic of the graphic area. All I have to say is...Here's Johnny!!!

Thanks Trace, that would be a lot of fun. It is actually a picture now. I am looking for someone good enough to paint it on. I will try to get some closeups this weekend if the weather cooperates.
