The other Stratheads (Retros, 25th, GMdubya) have different profiles from the EVH because the EVH necks are laser-scanned replicas of Ed's Frankie neck, and the others are not. The offset profile comes from the years of wear Ed's put on that original neck.

Basswood is not always as light-weight as people keep thinking - it usually weighs like Alder, but CAN be lighter.

And yeah that pic where you can see through her hands (but ther'es no blur!) is a serious trip [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

How is the color? If you remember from way back my 0455 RWB was very orange, and you could see lots of tape runs and overlying of the stripes. It looks real good is these pics. Congrats

Yeah, I do remember that. Your's was more of a "tomato soup"-ish red with some orange to it, correct?

Pretty sure it's a different shade now. More vibrant red, no orange tint at all. I suspect the striping and transparency stuff is all intentional. In fact, someone else had suggested that might explain the buffing. I think that may be correct - it would seem to fit right in with the theme.

And interesting about your serial # - that doesn't seem to fit in with the serialization described earlier? ...Now I'm confused again. [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

Yeah the # system messed me up too. At 1st I thought the 04xx reffered to 2004, because soon after the New Year I started seeing 05xx(thinking it's 2005). I didn't realise they were just doing consecutive numbers maybe?
