I've never played a Charvel before but I'm really liking the maple boards that are offered. I currently play dk1's cause to me its the best feel of all Jacksons. I had them all at 1 time or another. Anyway how do the Charvel pointys feel in relation to a dk1 neck? I'm talking about thickness and width cause the dk1's are perfect but Jackson doesn't offer maple boards.

Re: Question on Charvel vs Jackson necks
Very similar, IMHO. The DK1s are quite Charvel-ish. Same nut width, similar backshape profile. The Charvels have a little bit thinner and flatter profile, but the difference is small, IMHO. Probably the most noticable difference in "feel" is the lack of binding on the fretboard. Again, though, a minimal thing.
I love them both. The DK1 necks are sweetness, very close. The Charvels are just a bit more to my preferences.
