I am all about that neck.

How would you describe the profile??? Is it thinner or thicker (2900 is thinner, but Bloodspatters new orange bengal, whcih is late 2800s, is a little "thicker".

rps14a, yep, this was the one that was parted out on ebay. I won all the pieces except for the neck which chucksplatter graciously sold to me.

RR05xx, I don't have enough frames of reference (i.e., cool, old charvies!) to compare the neck with other years, but the neck is to die for...definitely thin...well broken in with nice rolled edges. It has that trademark, tight, quartersawn pattern along the top shoulder of the neck along the low E string.

sully, parts used for restoration: non-logoed 59 and distortion, p/u rings, knobs from a model series charvel, vintage 3 way with tip from budman. still looking for strap buttons.

I gotta say, i dont know how jim does it.But damn does he kick ass at restoring finishes.I had scoopy when it was a purple ugly duckiling. It goes to Jim AKA the swan, and it looks amazingly candy apple red(which was underneath the ugly purple). This job was no exception. That is a sweet looking plain jane star.Dig the battle scars too! Great job seventh sighn and Jim and CHucksplatter! Another endangered charvel brought back to life!
