Ok-Here's what I have so far.
The 1981 Charvel (pre-pro) started it's life looking like my 1983 charvel:Vintage trim,1 Humbucker,1 volume knob...
Then after Marc got it he/someone added the floyd rose. Here are some pixs from the XYZ video Inside Out:
Then in the early 90's Toru (dinkyjacksonman) got her from a friend. When Toru's friend bought it he added the neck humbucker and 3-way switch.
Toru later sold it to a guy in Santa Monica and then it was sold to Mick Mars-Here is how it looked when Mick owned the charvel:
This charvel was featured in a japanese magazine called Young Guns in 1994:
The description reads:This charvel custom model has been well used on the album, made in 1982,body and neck are maple-the fretboard is dirty due to the unfinished neck so it has been used often. As we all know this charvel was made early 1981-neck date is HB 4-13-81.Mick also said in the interview that the charvel was used for (at least) 50% of the album-The album was Motley Crue with John Corabi on vocals:Thanks Toru
Mick later sold the charvel and Toru ended getting it back in 2004.Toru wrote-Between 1994-2004,10 years passed and the bright color of red has faded to a light orange.I think the pigments in the trans red finish just did not hold up over the years. You can still see some red around the floyd, neck, knobs but what is very cool is under the neck plate it is still like it was from the factory-I love the trans red finish-(yep Marc's charvel was trans red not solid red)but the light orange is beautiful as well!!!!!
That's when I decided to buy her-oh I remember that day it was 9-27-2004-ah my first pre-pro and it was celebrity owned at that-The body is 2 pc birdseye maple,no trem recess,1volume,1 tone,3 way switch,Duncan distortion and Duncan 59 in the bridge and neck, old floyd rose,21 fret neck-jumbo frets,1 pc maple neck oiled finish, nut width is 1" 11/16.This is how she sits today:
That's all for now but it is a start-Enjoy-oh yeah still looking for concert photo's,video's...etc...
