Re: USA Charvel ID?

you should not only get it fixed, but you should get it setup, new strings put on, etc. Should be aroound 30 for the setup and around another 30 for the repair if it is a pretty basic problem.

I'd say throw it on eBay and see what she pulls in. Get it fixed. There's a lot of people who'd want that guitar and it will fetch a pretty good price, one helluva of a return for a $55 dollar investment

If you like the guitar other than the price it may bring in I'd keep it and play it.

Can a JCF brother in LA step up here and help this guy out. I'd hate to see this guy get screwed over on this guitar.

Also, could that be an artist's guitar? It looks like a large endorsement logo and it's also a very late strat head. Just a thought

Please Keep it ,do the e-bay thing just to see what kind of offers you get ,but reserve the right to end the auction.By all means keep it this guitar is bound to go up in value as there is more interest in these guitars and there aren't that many available, just look at all the replicas and fakes floating around ,and these can go for almost $1000 and theyre fake,so it would be wise to keep it ,however it's yours to do what ever you feel like doing with it and don't let anyone change your mind.Everyone here is just voicing their own opinion and that is exactly what it is an opinion,But my opinion is "KEEP IT,RESTORE IT AND ENJOY IT"

              Re: USA Charvel ID?

Putting it on ebay now would be pointless if your just testing to see what its worth ,everyone here knows and the big guns of collecting these guitars are reading the same thread we are in right now.If you put it up fishing and everyone here knows it, someone will either hit it high to make his own guitars look like they are worth more.Or they will low ball you and make an offer a little higher.

Keep it, do a auctions ended search, put the guitar in the corner and spank it all night knowing whatcha got!Thats waht i do.....i mean,......thats what i would do, yeah thats it.thats the ticket.

the remedial reading and spelling thread is moderated by racerX, it's a new section at the bottom of the main page davey boy. a hummer does sound awfully nice right now, as long as you're on the recieving end right, o.k. where's skinner-lol

I\'ve had it cleaned and repaired

The guitar shop at Carruther's repaired it for me. I had a new jack installed (I still have the original, broken one), as well as a strat style knob set put on there (once again, I have the original set that came with it). It's been cleaned, set up, wirirng repaired, new batttery, new 25k pot, new strings, and as you may or may not be able to tell... it's really pretty again!

It will be nice to sit down and actually play it and have sound come out

After I get to know it better, I'll know what way I want to proceed. The fender in the one pic is my '57 re-issue strat (also from the 80's).

You don't even realize how lucky you are. What a score. There are people here that would give their firstborn for that Strathead!!!!!

                          Enjoy it!

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.
