*If* you are a David Gilmour fan and *if* those EMGs aren't original, you may want to consider the "david gilmour" emg pickup/hardware set since you already have the 3 SC setup. No mods would be required on that pickguard. Apologies for the "from-left-field" suggestion, but I've been looking for the perfect guitar to do that mod on, and you have it!!! Interesting that you suggest that..... I happen to be a HUGE David Gilmour fan (one of the things that led me to the '57 strat in the background....)

I should add that I don't know how I would tell if those EMG's were original or not. Is there a way to find out such information? I just know that today for the first time I was able to hear them, and later tonight or probably tomorrow I'll finally have a chance to hear the sound that this guitar has always been capable of making. I was just looking at the "gilmourizing your strat" section of a web page a few hours ago...

Anyone have any advice about where to get a bar for the kahler? It would be nice to complete the thing, although I understand that they are becoming increasingly rare.

Oh yeah, Gilmourize that sucker. Seeing Floyd live in '88....twice....one of the best distorted tones I have ever heard from a 'Strat was Gilmour's EMG equipped strats..and I have seen SRV live as well as Eric Johnson seven times.

fwiw, i doubt that any emgs on a strathead would be original, but i'm not an expert.
