  • n00b question about Jake E.Lee

    I have a n00b question for everyone...

What model of Charvel was Jake's purple and blue stratheads? I have two photos as part of my wallpaper archives and the more I see them, the more they grow on me.

From what I can tell, they are H/S/S config with a volume knob, and 5-way blade selector.

    Any info is much appreciated.

And yes, I did a search and came up with nothing on those two axes.

Thanks guys. I figured they might be customs, but wasn't too sure.

FYI, I understand that its the earlier white "Charvel" logoed str@t which is actually an old fender which Jake have "charvled" - shaved the neck etc.

The white one was a Fender'70's 3 bolt that had the neck shaved down an converted to the small headstock. A fellow at Charvel did the work including a new paint job. His favorite pickup selection was a Duncan JB in the bridge and DiMarzio SDS-1's in the middle and neck positions. I don't know if he kept these combinations on the Blue and Purple bursts, but I assume so. The white Charvelized strat was Jake's favorite and he virtually wore it out. Just after the white one was a Daphne Blue Charvel with black pickguard prior to getting bursts.
