• May I present #4060....Reborn.

Hey guys. Here are some pics of #4060 now that it is nearly complete. This, of course, was parted out. I got the body. I added a reverse model series neck from a 3DR, which I painted to match the Bengal job on the body. The headstock was an adventure to say the least, and had to be redone once. It came out about 95% as well as I hoped. I have to clean up a little overspray on the stripes....but I am quite satisfied with the results. Tuners and gold logo will go on tomorrow, a buff and wax in about a month when the paint is fully hardened. I hope it plays well after all of this!!!

Let me know what you think!

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Cool, it's looking good! I like how you carried the red onto the headstock with the truss rod cover. Looking foward to the finished pics.

Only one thing that stands out as a minor complaint for me.. the headstock tip. Being its painted black it looks busted off against a dark background.

I like Bengals and I think you did a good job. I'm sure there will be some issues among purists with it being a parts mutt with a gold logo but as long as it stays being represented as such, then all is good IMO.

                Re: May I present #4060....Reborn.

OK, It is done and played!!

                Impressions.

The guitar is FAT, I mean FAT. It must be a maple body. It is very heavy and produces great Lynch tones. I ran through my Dokken tunes and it sounds great....even if I don't!!

I dig the Kahler. Don't know why they get such a bad rap? Very lively and responsive unit. It is kina funky to adjust, and I am about bottomed out on the saddle height. Any lower and the set screws protrude too much and cut the string's access to the rollers. I could add a shim if I want to drop the action more, but it is a medium low right now. There was a shim in there when I got it....I removed it.

I even dig the Schaller pickup. It certainly belts out the distortion.

Only complaint is that my high E sounds kinda weak. It just doesn't pop as much as the other strings. Any ideas on that???

I added a gold logo. It was a waterslide and it split. I had to piece it together and thus I lost the TM part. Oh, well.

Now, I will just enjoy this awesome metal machine. This guitar has the best distorted chord tone I have ever heard. Just HUGE.

And for anyone that has an issue with this guitar I am going to say this, and be done with it. It is a parts mutt. It has no plate, it has a black generic plate with a Charvel decal on it. It has a 3DR neck on it. It is stamped 3DR, nobody is going to mistake it for a San Dimas neck. I would never sell the guitar as a San Dimas Charvel....I don't plan on selling it period. I don't have a ton of money. I really wanted a San Dimas Charvel with a cool graphic. I have roughly $450 invested in this guitar and I am thrilled. Getting this body was the only way I would be able to get a San Dimas at this point in my life. I have said my peace. If you have an issue, I am sorry....it is just a guitar.

                Pics!!

                  Re: May I present #4060....Reborn.

Looks great. Dont know if you caught it but the B string is out of its slot in the nut. Often times is the nut that kills the tone of the High E. Check the slot to make sure that is clear and cut properly. If it has kind of a twang to is, You may be able to clean it up a bit with a blade. Some times this happens when a guitar has been set up to play with one guage of strings and another size is put on later.

Thanks, Mike. I did catch the B string out of the nut...but I will look into the slot on the E.

Not quite as good as one of your paint jobs...but I was using rattle cans.

                        Thank you, Sir!!

I am really digging it. However, I just wish the frets were a tad bit bigger. The neck is a 3DR neck and I figured it would be very close to my Predator neck since the Predator is the toothpaste version of the 3DR. It has smaller frets though. It is actually thinner than the Predator neck too, which is odd since the model series are generally a little thicker. Either way, it rocks.

3DR has the thinnest neck in the model series IMO.
