I can imagine the conversations with EVH after his initial displeasure with the red color:
EVH: "And don't ship any more, until I personally approve the correct shade of red."
(A month later...)
J/C guy #1: "Hey Ed, we've got the corrected red for you to approve."
EVH (sloshed): "Bring 'em on in."
J/C guy #1: "How about this? The color's cool, huh?"
EVH: "Nah freggin way...(hiccup)...that's still wrong. Too orangey, man."
J/C guy #1: "Uhhh...(panicking..thinking)...Well hold on a sec. We did a few different versions." (Turns to J/C guy #2.) "Go get another one for Ed to look at, will 'ya? They're just in the other room."
J/C guy #2: (Looks confused) "...Huh?"
J/C guy #1: "I said Go get another one for Ed to look at, will 'ya? They're just in the other room." (Winks.)
J/C guy #2: "Oh, yeah. I'll be right back."
(J/C guy #2 takes first guitar, leaves the room. A minute later he returns with the same guitar.)
J/C guy #1: "OK, this one's a little darker red, huh? That's right on, ain't it Ed?"
EVH: "(hiccup, small gag) No, man. No way. It's closer, but still not right."
J/C guy #2: "OK, let me get the next version."
(Takes guitar, leaves the room and returns with same guitar again.)
J/C guy #1: "OK, Ed. This one is the s**t, right?"
EVH: "(Slurring) Daayyyumm, man. Daazzz the one. Jus' like my baby. Make 'em ull like 'dat one."
I can only imagine the hassle it has to be to deal with him now. I grew up thinking he was the greatest. I saw him 3 times on the last tour, had soundcheck at each one, at 2 of the 3 he was beligerent drunk, inaudible, and lashed out at a fan for giving him a yellow bracelet(ala Lance Armstrong) them lectured the fan for about 5 minutes about BS, truley an akward moment for all.
Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you yunick jelly thou!

Dude, I swear I am constantly defending these guitars to guys that play Andersons, Suhrs, Thorns, etc.. And while those guitars ARE great, no doubt, the Art Series are JUST as soulful, playable and well constructed. Are they worth the $2K+ price tag? Absolutely. In fact, I had the R/B/W down at the Anderson shop the other day. Guess what? The Anderson elves loved it. Bro, we are like 2 alcoholics at the bar denying we've got a problem - and no one's gonna tell us otherwise!!

for you bro? Always!!!
Well I've thought these guitars were cool as hell from day 1 but now I've finally played one. On Sunday I went to a GC near me (I know, I know) and they had a B/Y one. They also had a used EB (for the same price!) so I played that first to get warmed up on. It's a nice guitar but I prefer the Wolfgang and the price was ridiculous. Then I played the EVH Charvel.........it was great, I loved it! It sounds great, looks great, and the neck is awesome! The only thing that threw me off a little was that the trem was stiff as hell. I looked in the back and only two springs, so I'm not sure how to loosen it up a little other than from use. Are the trems on your guys EVHs so tight?
