Hey I never claimed to be a Charvel expert in fact as I've said many times I'm far far from that. I just call it like I see it. And I see a simple body thats in pretty bad shape and a killer neck. End of story. As I mentioned on the ebay thread about these charvels I never believed in the collectable guitar concept. Alot of people do an will pay it. I suspect someone will pay good coin for this guitar? But to me its worth what I said.

I mean the thread was called "Check this out" not "Charvel experts look at this" know what I mean?

No need to ridicule the people who don't know the market or wouldn't pay 3500 for this prepro. Don't assume they are idiots just because they have a different opinion than you.

Having said that I think the guitar is cool as hell and I'd love to have it. I'd go as high high as 1200 on it but that doesn't mean I don't know what other people will pay or what it will bring in. For me, personally as a player, I could grab other, better bang for the buck players for my money. GMW, parts etc. This means I'm practical, not that I don't have money pay market prices or that I'm a Charvel idiot [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Am I a Charvel expert? Not by a long shot. But I am frugle. $3500 for a modded prepro is in my opinion extortion. I found my modded serialized S-head for $1200. Granted they aren't easy to find anymore. But some people seem to believe if it has a s-head it is worth mega bucks.

I believe that guitar is worth some decent coin. The $800 was a steal. As stated above that guitar has a bogie route, Over on CC there was a 6 page thread about the routes and how that may affect value and desireability.

I can remember when Neil stumbled across theat cache of stratheads. Some of the guitars were in very rough condition. Some were ok. Several had the boogie route, and I remember some of the discussions about what was considered Charvel what may have been a Boogie body.

But what do I know. Just my opinion.

If I had the dollars I would drop it in a second on that guitar.

That guitar was modded, but with some very choice hardware. I dare anyone here to come up with a Floyd Rose that early.

Great looking guitar. The early prepro are sooooooo hand made it is silly how nice they are. I feel they are the nicest of the Charvels. An opinion, but based on hands on knowledge.

The Charvel mrket is screwey. It is screwey because they are valued as collectables and therefore not valued correctly. If that were an prepro Anderson, a "musician" would gladly pony up $3500. As a prepro Charvel, and a rare one at that, it should command high bucks.
