Charvel Flying V - Can You Order From Custom Shop?
Re: Charvel Flying V - Can You Order From Custom S
Thanks guys!! Basically after owning a few Gibson flying V's in my lifetime I got sick of all of Gibson's design flaws (Input jack on the front being the biggest offender). This has a Jackson style flush jack as well as flush schaller strap locks so nothing is sticking out.
To get that headstock shape made I had to take a trace of my 1980 gibson flying V headstock and send it to Lee to add as a template. Gibson only used that shape for a few years (79 - 82) I think and I really like it. This is truly one guitar I thought out for months before ordering and nothing went into it that wasn't agonized over.(even the lack of Truss Rod cover). I never understood that huge plastic truss rod cover gibson uses. Amzingly the price was really fair as well..what do you think Gibson would charge for something like this? Thanks all for appreciating it!

Nice GMW. I was thinking among the lines of a Flying V based on Robbin Crosby's in the Round & Round video with some differences:
* Bolt on like early 80's Charvel SD custom shop
* Black "round horn" V body, white body binding, no pickguard
* Oil finished birdseye maple neck w/ black dots, reverse Jackson pointy painted black with white headstock binding
* 2 Duncan hums, 1 vol, 1 three way toggle
* Floyd, non-recessed
GMW would make a nice commissioned piece, no?

dean make Flying V bodys on their V's
i dont know if they would do a switch on headstocks, but you could always ask
cuz i know their Custom450 headstock (theres two versions) and they are very similar to the jackson style HS
