If Matt (Matt's Music) would have packed it, It would have been done right. I bought a new Rhoads from him and I think that thing would have survived Armeggedon because of the packing. It took me ten minutes to unwrap the thing [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Well, mine finally got here today. I have to admit, I'm with Shawn on his feelings toward these guitars.

Yeah, nothing to report kinda fits #2 also.

Yeah, the neck seemed sub-special to me also..
Though mine seems a little darker than the others.

Birdseye or Flame are a custom upcharge and not something the CS just automatically does. With that said I'm not sure how it would react in Florida as your climate is much like S' Cali but I can say this. Figured woods do not do well in climates that vary greatly. I have several birdseye necks and they move quite a bit.

Like the bullseye to keep costs down and get a more stable neck I specified quartersawn ....

Regular #10 with serial #6694 is now the lowest serial available..

I think not matching the plates to the ltd 1 of 10 on the headstocks makes it a joke to be honest... So right now #10 regular is #1 LOL.. not bad considering it is the last of the 2nd run

All kidding aside, I will post some real pics in the next two days. #2 regular S/N 6694 arrived with only minor issues. The strings are corroded pretty well. The locking nut screws were beginning to show oxidation. The only scary thing was that the volume knob was driven down against the body. I noticed it before even trying to turn it. I loosened the set screw and raised it. It works and there was
no body damage, but the control feels rough and probably will get replaced. Other than that, Case fine, paint fine, love the neck, love the tone, this is a definite keeper folks. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/notworthy.gif[/img]
Sorry about the plates Kevin, that seemed weird to me also.

Plates aren't your fault at all, no need to apologise and I'm not looking to have the lowest plate either..

To me it seems to make numbering the the guitars 1 of 10 2 of 10 a bit of a joke ..

Yes it does. I was excited when I saw your serial # was 6701 I was hoping they would all fall in sequence. How cool would that have been? I got reverse #9 and looked at the plate and it was #6828. A bit disapointed but no big deal. I love the feel of the neck but I did find one thing that I really don't like about it. I got one with a paint flaw. I've already contacted Matt and sent him the pictures. He forwarded it on to Charvel. So now I guess I have to wait and see what the will do about it.

I had a chance to play mine last night and give it good workout.
I really dig the color and it fills my expectations.
It resonates freely.
My FR hardware is fine and showing signs of oxidation like some of the other guys.
After I lowered the FR the action is just perfect and the neck relief is dead on the for the FR height I selected. No fret buzz, period.
I noticed after playing it bit a small flare up of the neck-body joint in the little body shoulder that comes in, on the gap. Not a tight fit like on the bass side.

I wish I can get that case rash fixed, at that point the neck will be 100% perfect. Anyone knows the gunstock oil brand?

I think this run is a winner. We have to admit that guitar players are finicky and out twenty there will be deviations from standard, good or bad is a matter of taste and preference. These things are craft pieces and no two, let alone twenty, can be the same and "absolutely" perfect.

Hey, if all 20 plates consist of numbers that could be put in order, we could all work together in a swap and make it right....right?? I guess doing that and getting them to change the books would be impossible. And no, I haven't been drinking already this morning. It would just be a cool thing.
