My Greenie #5 of 10 just came in. Damn UPS, I swear, made me wait all day and it shows up at 4:35 P.M. with case rash on the back of the neck.
There is one spot where you can see the neck support on the case worn off from the friction. At that very same spot the wood on the neck is rough and you can see the area scratched off.

What do you recommend to clean that off and make it smooth like the rest of the neck?
Wet sand paper and some gun stcok oil afterwards?

The green finish looks awesome and yes the action is a tad high, but I can fix that as soon as I get home.

Aarrgghh! Next time I do a run like this I'm going to have to personally deliver every guitar just so I don't have to worry about UPS!

I'm trying to find out the exact name of the gun oil they used on the neck for you.

Great....Now my heart is in my throat. Between work tomorrow and a HS football game after, I'll be lucky to even get to open it until after 10:30 tomorrow night(If it gets here). And our local UPS people are well trained in the art of destruction. I'm going to take my camera to work tomorrow and post a picture of an actual package that was handed to me by a laughing UPS driver. [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

Dude I feel for you.
As soon as I saw the squeezed box I knew I will find something. I got home and found some major string rubbage in the upper five frets. I can polish that as well.

I am not that versed on how to rub the back of the neck and have that smooth satin feel though.

#10 regular is here and nothing to report, other than the awesome tone. The setup is so-so, but certainly playable and workable. No beater issues, except a few UPS scratches on the case. BTW, these G&G cases, to me, seem to have taken a downward turn in terms of quality as of late. The older ones I own are rock solid. The newer ones, like the ones that came with my EVH's, etc..all seem to be fucked up as far as alignment. You have to work them to shut correctly.

It definitely has the great vibe the GX Bullseye has. Up until this point, I had become disallusioned by the term "custom shop". And to a point, I still sort of feel the same way. My custom shop dweezil came WAY the fuck out of tune, one locking nut fell off, etc..My "custom shop" Kimber .45 is currently in its third week at Kimber for feeding and extraction problems right out of the box. It just doesnt seem to mean all that much anymore. However, having owned standard charvels (the new ones) this is a big step up from those. Definitely up there with the GX , my Charvel tele, etc...This is NOT a standard. Although, I will say, the neck on my Tele, and the Bengal are very different. This neck seems to be essentially the exact same neck you would get if you bought the cheapest US Charvel. The other "custom shops" I own have birdseye, and a noticably fuller back feel. The custom sounds great , but I have come to really love the custom-custom, so thats no surprise.

All in all a great guitar, looks badass,feels great,less filling. Thanks to Kevin Maynard for the idea and Matt for making the whole experience seem like a breeze.

So Matt, what will you do with your windfall? Porsche? Maybe a new Summer home in the Keys? God knows owning a music store has to be one of the most lucrative professions going. Where do you store all of the dough? (sarcasm button on)

And one more note, not necessarily bad, but it is not as bright green as I had hoped and expected, thats for sure.

A bit late here so I find #9 sitting on the back patio when I got home. Just opened the box and everything looks OK. Plugged it in gave it a quick tune and let the guitar play itself for about 1/2 hour. Action is defiantly high but neck.... well it feels awesome! I will give it a thorough look and a setup tomorrow. As promised. This is how careful UPS is around here. This is the exact condition of the box when handed to me by the laughing UPS driver. It contained a $300.00 part.

Guitar showed up around 3:30 yesterday. One end of the box was opened and when the UPS guy went to hand me the box, the open end fell and the case slid out of the box and down a few steps of the stairs in front of my door. No damage, case was wrapped in plastic, but that was about all the packing there was. Got to love Charvel shipping. When I bought my EVH directly from Charvel, it was the case in the box, that's it. No packing no wrapping.

Flame, when a UPS driver pulls that kinda shit on me, I take down their name and call the company. But then I work in a shipping warehouse. He actually laughed about the destroyed box? Thats what I would tell his supervisor. He probably won't be laughing when he gets reamed out for it.
