Very cool story...sounds like it was a good time.

BTW, where is DCGL? I'm new to the Denver area and I've only found one cool shop so far, but its not a C/J dealership.
Anytime you feel like showing a JCFer the ropes to CO, let me know...I can use the education.

Cool -Saw Stryper back in the day- I think they were using Marshalls loaded into Mesa Power. Not sure been a long time it was at their peak.

Anyway they rocked back then. One of the loudest shows I have ever been to, guitars were ripping.

Just curious how their live sound was and how was the show.

He looks cooler without the spandex I never had any

Re: Badseed Meets Michael Sweet/Stryper!!

Mike was using Tech 21 amps and a whole bunch of pedals.Oz was using marshalls.Mike did say that the last time they were in town they had to lower the volume due to local ordinances. They wer LOUD.The show was killer
.They played a minimum of 2 songs off of each lp/cd.Played 6-7 off the reborn cd.It was about 2 hours long and just powerful. No keyboard player this tour, which i think made it better. They played "honestly" on acoustic.Sounded better that way.Mike played a gibson sg and V, and his PRS.Oz started with a fender tele and switched to his wayne for the first half of the show, then switched between the two jacksons.

They introduced the bass player and saidf he did a mean Vince Neil Impersonation. They got him to do it, everyone laughed, i yelled that he sang too many of the lyrics to sound like vince.lol. they laughed and Ozz saind that mike does a great Dennis DeYoung impersonation, to which m9ike replied " i do that on every song" hahaha.

They were having a good time, it was obvious

This is an interesting comment and I had a similar comment made to me back in '88 from an famous artist on the road. The road is tough on some people, especially those that have families back at home. It seems all too stale and lonely sometimes even if you have your bandmates with you on the road. Even though those guy's have a mission and one that is honorable, the day to day travel routine can get one down. Travel by bus or plane, then Hotel, eating out all the time, go to the venue, sound check, wait around, then the show, then start all over. You gave Mike a "time out" and a diversion from the hum drum part of the road.
You were blessed to be there and you blessed Mike at the same time.
Great Story and thanks for sharing.

How ironic that since Dave has sold out to the Man he's now meeting and greeting more rock stars than ever before!
