charvel re- issue or a GMW?

i have not played either but the GMW's lokk more old san dimas
with the strathead but those newer charvels do entice the
"gotta have one" thoughts!
are the newer charvels real good?
i have my eye on this one in particular

New GMWs are not available with the strathead (FMIC put a stop to that). Rumours are that strathead Charvels may become increasingly available.....

I have 3 GMWs and they're all great, but I've not played a new Charvel (yet!), though the general concencous from those who know is that new Charvels are excellent.

the new pointies are dead on to the old ones.
I've played quite a few of them and I haven't played one yet that I didn't Love!
I also really Gmws so it's really a matter of taste,
but I think either way is a win win

That one you're looking at is sold. Wild West guitars, right?

As far as which one...I've had many GMWs, and played a few new Charvels.
They are both good guitars. I think the individual guitar is more important than the name on the headstock. They are both solid body electric guitars...wire and wood.

This has been argued to death..everyone has their opinions.. I feel the new Charvels are great guitars but the necks feel like Fender. GMW has really nailed the san dimas neck profile if requested and they feel really close to the original.

Are you reffering to the pointie or the stratheads. I haven't heard one person state that a pointy feels fenderish.

As far as the GMWs unless you find a used one kicking around they can't do stratheads anymore

The new Charvel pointies are awesome, they look and feel just like the originals. I highly recommend them. I've never played a GMW, so I can't speak about them. I do know they are quality guitars.

The new Charvels Iv played had poor fret work IMO. I wouldnt want buy one off the net. I would want to play it first to make sure its up to standards. Good luck what ever you choose.
