San Dimas Serial Numbers

If you find a Charvel serial number(San Dimas neckplate) above 5492 is that a custom shop build or a problem? Also, I am confused about the timeline and use of the San Dimas name on these guitars. Any help appreciated.

Thanks. Great site. If I understand it correctly any San Dimas 6000 and up serial numbers were mfg'd in 2002.

Numbers 6000 and up started in 2000 and are still being used today

I am still trying to figure out my Jackson. It has a SD plate #6944. H-x-S, rosewood, 24 fret.
Don't know for sure. But plays liek a demon. [img]/images/graemlins/band.gif[/img]

It's a Jackson? Then it was made in Ontario, CA between 1987-1989. They used leftover plates from the San Dimas shop
