• Adding a tone knob.

I'm not sure if this is bad form, blasphemy, or simply stupid---but I would like to add a tone knob to my HRF Charvel (#6099). I have recently gotten rid of all my humbucker guitars except this one and would love some more tonal versatility with it.

Anyone had this done? Any reservations or recommendations?

    Thanks for the input.

I purchased a volume/tone knob combination so I didn't have to drill any extra holes. I think it was called a 'concentric' knob.

Thanks again, guys. And don't worry---there will be no drilling.

were did you purchase one, does it fit without enlarging the existing shaft hole? I like to give one a try, cool info. Thanks

Warmoth has them. I am sure you can find them at other places.

Yes I got mine from Warmoth. I used it to go in my PrePro and it fit perfectly. I am very happy with it. The ONLY thing is the knob is about 1/2 inch taller than to orig knob

Just buy and old stereo receiver cheap. They have the two-way knobs in them. IE, the L-R balance knob.

Yeah, concentric is definetly the way to go. A separate tone knob would get in the way. Also, you would have to drill holes in your purty guitar.
