  • string ferruls

I'm restoring an 83 string thru star does any one know or have some of the original ferruls charvel used and do they extend all the way to the top of the body so that the strings do not contact the body on their way to the tune o matic bridge.
I'm dying to get this project done and still need a neck plate I'd settle for a usa jackson neck plate. thanks
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

    Re: string ferruls

The ferrules are the pieces on the back of the guitar that the strings go through. The eyelet is a separate piece on top where the strings come out of, it just pops in the hole. I just actually got an eyelet from Kevin Easton on my string-thru Dinky HX, though it seems it is of a little different design and shiny black as compared to the matte black on the rest of the guitar, though it serves its purpose. Kevin usually has some old or odd parts laying around, so give him a try.
