This is how I look this.
It is just my opinion.
How many active users on CC posting post there?
How many posts each day?
When I look at the board,if there are only few posts a day or less than 10,I see there is a problem at least It should cost a lot of money and the time for Admin(s) keeping the board(not sure exactly how much)alive.
Anyway, they will need a company that can be sponsored for the board to keep it going.
Many times,there are same topics on both boards(by almost the same users) that I usually reply to the posts on JCF where more people responds.
CC is very forcused on early Charvel that limits people to post there.
I am sure there are many people from JCF visit that site and don't have much to contribute including myself since there are already some die hard Charvel fans know more than anybody else.
And back to the original question of this thread,
I don;t see a problem sign up to view the page.
But this doesn't mean you will get hundreds of junk e-mails in yoru mailbox.
And no need to post if you feel not to.
So, go ahead and sign up. I did and still I really don't have much to talk on that board.
Some posts are too detailed that I don't even know what to say or don't even knwo what they are talking about.
