i want to share a happy feeling with you.
today my "new" san dimas III reissue arrived.
here´s a picture which shows my SD I and the SD III.
i hope you´ll like it.

how do these 2 guitars compare?
i had a san dimas koa reissue and i was kinda disappointed by it.

the SD I is a koa one and i love it! i changed the bridge pu, original there is a super3 and i put in a tonezone for more basspunch.

the SD III is made of mahagoni with a quiltmaple top. the neck is birdseyemaple with pao ferro fretboard. PU: tonezone, fasttrack, chopper (from bridge to neck) with the mini-switch, you can route the tonezone directly to the outputplug.

both guitars have very different sounds.

my charvel sd koa reissue was disappointing to me because the fit and finish was mediocre, the playability wasn't that good and the sound was just decent.

i also had a cheap charvel model3 and i thought it was way better than the sd koa and it was alot cheaper.

maybe i just got a bad one...

Very sweet.

I have had my SDI Koa since 95 if memory serves me right. It was my first "real" guitar.

It has been my main player since I got it and I haven't changed a thing.

I really like ther reissues.

i played the SD III yesterday into my marshall 6100 amp with two 4x12 cabs and that was an amazing sound. the guitar has a really fat, clear tone. i think the SD III will detach my MM/EB EVH as my main axe.
