Neil Moser did aarticle on how he beleived the neck was what played a major part of the tonal role because they resonate so much

I've heard that! I'll let ya know if I think its true in about 8 weeks when my new mutt neck arrives (Pau Ferro neck with a Kingwood board). I assume you read this article Kev, was he talking about neck thru guitars or bolt on as well?

I like the guitar but the price is way too high for what it is.

Would a 2 humbucker strathead with an alder body, natural finish and an OFR be of any interest to you guys?

Alder is frequently nothing special to look at so I don't see the appeal there. Perhaps ash?

I love the Music Zoo idea!! I love natural mahogany, my favorite for the body and neck and why cover up suck sweet looking wood. as for Alder, I just got a natural SL2H and the alder is very nice, Jackson picked a sweet peice for this one!! Jack.

I love this idea, too. I would prefer a Dinky body made of Koa, black hardware & 24 frets, but this is getting very close to my ideal axe. If someone who knows would PM me the price on this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for posting this. I didn't even know about this run.

Well, why not bring these back on a strathead limited run if your going to do two pickups.

In all honesty Jackson should do this series again now in a strathead with 22 frets... I think it would make the people who felt these weren't part of the charvel line happy..

agree Kev...I think going 22 frets and giving them the Strat Head shape would attract some attention.

Surely they'd need normal sized strat bodies as well.....

I'd go for that. I love my Koa SD1. I just wish it had an ebony board, a Strat head, and a 1-11/16" nut. I seriously want the Koa SD1 in your photo. That is drop dead gorgeous. If it's yours, please consider me a willing buyer if you ever want to sell it.
