Replacing your number 1

Whatever your reason for buying a SD, did it replace your number 1 guitar? I bought my 83 strathead because I really wanted one for as long as I can remember. It is a player it is heavily modified so it's not the most collectable guitar out there, but I wasn't intending on playing everyday. After the first time I played it my model 3a fell to number 2 and my ESP lynch along with my other guitars went into their cases. Today I was getting ready to play the 3a and it needed dusting before I could play it. After cleaning it up it too went into its case. Leaving the 83 all by itself.

yep...up until buying my fractured glass strathead my main player was an 85 sd pointy in white (brett from sandimascharvel.com owns it now)...when i first pulled the fractured out of it's case it just felt...perfect...and it still does...d.m.

Excellent topic and YES I was strictly a Les Paul man or my beloved 68 Tele but then I started buying other makes and my collection quickly grew.
Then I got my first REAL Charvel (hey like everyone I bought unknowingly 2 fake Strat Heads before getting the real deal..arrgghh) and the rest was history. I just feel in love with those pointy necks..my main players ever since. In fact I have sold off almost all my other brands Dean, Kramer, ESP, a lot of my Fenders and some of my Pauls.

I finally got a real '84 Pointy SD Charvel after playing Jacksons for the last 15 years. I thought the Ontario built guitars were unbeatable until I got my paws on this!! It's now my main guitar, it just feels superb...............I NEED more of them!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
