How long did it take to sell 30(?) of those guitars?
It's got to be over a year.
Just curious.

Re: GX Bullseye Ltd edition query

I bought one with the first group of JCF'ers and sold mine to a JCF member soon after. Nice Guitar, I just had another direction to go at that time.

Re: GX Bullseye Ltd edition query

I wanted one of those when GXpress started the run but I lacked the funds. Then when I saw all the positive rant about the guitar and that there were two left I had to have it. Not to mention the fact I have been waiting a year and a half already for a custom Charvel strat from Guitar Asylum. God I remember walking into Sam Ash in NYC in 1984 every weekend and it was just wall to wall 3 rack deep Charvel strats and Jacksons with graphics. What happened to all those guitars?

FYI with many thanks going to Kevin Maynard, you can read the history behind this guitar and see some deatiled pics (again thanks Kev).

Re: GX Bullseye Ltd edition query

Tracy and Kev - GREAT write up and pics! Again, an awesome website and a phenomenal resource.

I'm confused by a couple of minor nits about the Bullseye "differences", though.

- The tuners have Jackson logos on them, but I thought they're still the same Gotohs? Just like the originals? Don't let that little film logo fool you. (It peels right off, BTW.)

- Re: the smaller cavity route. Although less commonly-used than the bigger "Ontario" route now, I didn't think J/C ever truly stopped using it for some bolt-ons? My DK1 has it. As, I believe, have other models before then, too. Mid-90s DR2 and the earlier HSS DK1. Possibly more?

correct the tuners ARE different..they are NOT the same as the originals (nonlogo'd Gotohs) and the set screw is in a different position on these Jackson tuners vs the original Gotohs

Doh! Forgot about the screw position. Sorry about that!

I wonder if they're the same model tuner, though, and Gotoh just changed 'em at some point over the years. ...Where are the Gotoh experts when you need them?

Gotoh still makes them the old way (SG36). The SG381 just sort of became the 'standard' key at some point around the same time Jackson switched.
