Re: 7up green Strathead parts guitar has a new home
I was the previous owner of the 7-Up and I always wondered if the color was actually called 7-up green. It's a metallic finish and more beautiful in person than in pics. It definitely went to the right home. That is again, an awesome set of stratheads.
Re: 7up green Strathead parts guitar has a new home
Its funny how everyone knows this one as the "7up green" one. I guess Tim Rose originally referred to it by that name. It really is a killer finish and the pics don't nearly do it justice. The metallic really catches light & the shade of green looks different depending on lighting.
I'm not sure if Tim did the finish himself or not. I need to drop him an email.

The body on the guitar on the far left is solid birdeye maple.
Its a two-piece body with a seam down the middle.
It was originally transparent red, but the whole thing is really faded now. The top of the guitar is faded a lot more than the rest & has a really different shade to it. The top actually looks kind of amber in some light & also kind of pink in some light.
It is weird how the top is more faded.....almost does look like a separate top in the pics but its not.
