Strathead vs. Pointy

my first charvel(red one) was a strathead. i like the pointy better...it looks meaner and definitely fits the "Rock" image well. just my two cents.

I wonder if life, and this thread, would be different if Leo and Freddy had designed the original Stratocaster with a pointy headstock back in the early '50's...

I suppose you could make an argument for increased mass of a pointy contributing to better sound

I'm a bass guy ... just recntly started playing electric guitars ...

I am not sure about with electric guitars, but in the electric bass community, there is a large camp that believes that headstock mass is the essence of great tone and sustain.

So much so, that you'll actually see some people attach weights and clamps onto their headstocks!
