Just for interest, how come you didn't wait 'til Saturday to get the 10% cash back from FMIC?

I got # 7308, I love the neck, the fretwork is immaculate, the edges are really rolled in, and it seems just a little bit thicker than the old San Dimas I used to own.

For those of you who own a Fender CS Strat, these Charvel necks are completely different, shape wise. The thinnest Fender CS neck I've had is a medium-thin C shape, this Charvel is more of a "flattened D", if it makes any sense.

The Custom 5 is a very interesting pickup, much bassier than the JB, open-sounding, doesn't sound compressed even at high gain.

Per Music Zoo, the first batch is spoken for, but they are expecting another batch.

Very Nice! Mahogany has a wonderful warm tone for sure!

I wanted mine for a series of rehearsals and a show tonight - Elbo Room Chicago 9:00

Mine's breaking in nicely, funny but I swear the high-end of the guitar is blossoming seems to have a little more grit to the highs in a good way

Flattened D and definitely Charvel is a good description of the neck, I find it less c-shaped than old necks, but if you are looking for Charvel, you won't be disappointed. The fretwork ranks up there with the best of the boutique houses, a VERY pleasant surprise.

Jury is out for me on the Custom 5, but I think it is a really nice match for the mahogany, sweetly smooth, could maybe use a little more top-end but I've also been using it through a Rockerverb 50 which is a pretty mid heavy amp.
My impression is that this guitar and a JCM800 would just kill.

Don't worry about the discount Nelli ;-). Thanks for the feedback guys, I can't wait for it, once I have it I'll let you know what I think.

Very nice! A double creme would look nicer than a zebra, but that's just my eyes.....it's YOUR guitar!

I think either the zebra or the double-creme would look killer with the mahogany. Nice guitar, by the way, and congrats!

OK, 7309 is here and it's a great guitar I posted a thread in the 'Ask Jackson' area, just to give some positive news there for a change! It feels great to play: one of those guitars which makes playing seem totally effortless, and it sounds awesome - I guess that's the 'thump' of mahogany with the brightness of the maple neck.....

The pics ain't the best, but you can get the idea:
