  • ARRIVAL! SD CHARVEL S.N. 7128 Candy Blue!

I received a call at work today "Jay, your candy blue charvel is in!" Right then and there, my blood pressure went up quite a few points and the last two hours of work took an eternity to go by!

Upon opening the case for the first time, it was a VERY special moment! I hadn't purchased a "BRAND NEW" axe in a LONG time! Especially one this sweet. I played two notes on it(After my luthier tuned it down .5 step and PINNED the action) and was all smiles! I went to a friend's house, went out to dinner with them and played a little acoustically with it, showed them the guitar(They always wanted to hear me play) and headed home so I could post pics/then play it!

These guys are worth every cent and more. VERY nice feel, ultra smooth/fast neck. Killer sound and the finish on the paint etc is second to none! I'd buy another in a heartbeat!! The place I got it from is getting one of each on the DeMartini guitars. I might put a deposit on "Frenchie" as they won a "BOMBER" from NAMM that I again played today to make sure I like the neck(I DO!).

This has been a long six months! Again, I don't know how some of you do it waiting and waiting for custom guitars! I could never make it waiting a year.

What I do know is I am as happy as a pig in poop!

Great looking guitar! Congrats. I didn't realize that they are already into the 7000 serial #'s.

Yes, I've seen that blue in person, but didn't play the guitar, since I would have a serious problem with the bank! Very nice job on these. Congrats! Play the heck out of it.

This is by far BY FAR the quickest neck I've ever played! I took the old red san dimas upstairs to compare(It was re-fretted with 6105's, thinner wire, but same height as the 6100's residing in blue). The blue guitar kills it. Not because it is new, and I am very excited...it is simply by feel faster, smoother and silkier!

Whatever they use with this "Specially formulated oil finish" It's time to sand the board/neck on old red and use the oil finish! It's THAT good!

I'm going to go play it some more! What a fine fine instrument! I'm glad these guitars are being sold again! I feel like I am 16 once more

Nice. That neck should be fast! The profile is there. Interesting that you say it kills an old one. Not my experience but what do I know (I only own a few old ones). Finish is gunstock oil actually. Now play it and get that neck dirty!

Yep, I played both guitars, new and old...and it isn't just my imagination, the new one is faster. The shellac feels a little stickier(as does the rear of the neck of the old one). Not saying I don't like it, it's nice to know it can be improved.

There are times in life when you're truly rewarded for the hard earned dollars that you spend. I am experiencing one right now! LOL Not too sure I'm going to sleep well tonight! The guitar is snoozing right beneath me

My luthier is going to get a call tomorrow to upgrade "red". If it can be done.

                    That is one sweet color.
Still needs a neck single =)
