  • New Charvel Star

Got this from Matt's Music yesterday. New USA Standard Star! Sorry about the crappy indoor pics, but I'm sick today and didn't feel like dragging it outside.

So, you reported sick to stay home with the new toy, eh?
I hope she play's as expected.

What's the body wood on these Standard Star's? Alder? <i'm too lazy to look it up heh>

Thanks! I love the Jazz neck pup, not too sure yet about the slightly scooped sound of the Custom 5, though. And it came with a form-fitting G&G case which properly holds the neck up and keeps the headstock from hitting the bottom of the case. The strap button on the neck bolt was a little loose, I had to tighten it... guess they didn't use enough custom shop toothpicks in there. I don't see why they couldn't put it in the center of the plate, but it doesn't bother me all that much. Plays great!!!!

Well, I'm pretty much self-employed and work mostly from home anyway, so it's all good.
Yes, made of alder, very light. Oiled neck feels great, neck is slightly round and beefy, no thin Dinky neck here.

Cool! Looks great. I was wondering when someone was going to nab that one. Congrats, Toejam.

Someday I'll have to get myself a star again.

Thanks, guys! It's a cool player for sure. I haven't really played it much today due to my slight cold and cough, but I really should get some of my work done and then jam on her later.
