Hey newbie, it's a common mistake...Jackson was owned by a company that had HQ in Texas at the time....for some reason they made a decision to put those neckplates on there....it's definitely a Japanese guitar but that doesn't mean it sucks. Get us a pic and we'll fully ID it!"Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

A former JCFer here, Black Mariah, used to work at Ft. Worth there.
So your buddy probably did take a tour, jabez....but I reiterate....any Charvels with the Fort Worth neckplate were manufactured at the Japanese factory."Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

QC was carried out in Texas before the Japanese axes were shipped to dealers. They had the tools there to mod the 5As into 5FXsLast edited by VitaminG; 05-08-2006, 08:13 PM.Hail yesterday
