Yep, I bought it and now the guy called me and said he may not be able to sell it for that price. After I paid in full. How do you like that?

He said he has to contact the owner and find out the real price....

    Unbeleivable..

You're getting bullshitted. Someone - possibly several "someones" - are likely trying to backdoor it behind your back. And now that the shop has heard several insane offers for more $$$, they're probably lying to you on severaal fronts.

If you've paid already, tell him to follow through on the sale, ship it. Realistically, though, you've most likely lost the guitar already. Sleazebags on both sides of the fence - the dealer (seller) and buyers.

It'll be interesting to see who/where this guitar will eventually surface.

I paid by credit card on Saturday. He called me today after I called the shop looking for him with questions about shipping. The payment went through and all. I told him that I was the first one to purchase it and that I should get it for the price advertised and he made up some story about it being on consignment and the owner never gave him a definate price. I have everything documented that was advertised online. Price, description and all. If it means a lawsuit then hell I'm ready.

He also said that alot of "Charvel" guys have been calling up and saying that he sold it for way too little and should not go through with the deal.

Can you believe that. Wow.. not cool. I would never do that. I would be happy for the person. I doubt it's any JCF members. Probably just some guys who are pissed that they missed it.

He did say that I would get the guitar either way though so that's cool.

Save the website & pics. If he doesn't follow through, report it to your CC company as fraud. But, most likely, it'll do no good. I'm sorry to say it, but the juice likely ain't worth the squeeze.

Make a good faith effort to try and make them complete the sale. But expect the worst - that's the most likely outcome.

Sorry, man, but this kind of s**t is all too common in vintage Charvel land.

In Canada I could call the place where they defend the right of the costumers and they could stop the guy's activities with the guitar to be sure that I receive what I should be buying.

In that case, price = 495,00 since they most likely want to up the price (and dont be surprised to see it in the 2000 IMO) its called false advertisement. When that stuff happens they have to sell it at the false price or sometime get 10% off the price they would normally sell it.

What a bunch of fcking fcktards.

« Oh my god too many ppl called in for the guitar. It must be worth a ton!»
« But dude its already sold »
« So what, lets put it on hold and research a little on that one»
« OMG dude its a very early Charvel, nearly considered as a prepro!»
« OH shiiiiit! Look @prices of normal sandimas on ebay»
                          * guys look Carrguitars *
« I'm sure that one is worth at least 2.5k! »

But that's not how some of the high roller Charvel collectors view it. For them, it's "he who has the most cool toys" wins. At any cost, and no matter how sleazy.

IMHO, you're likely wrong about that.
