Can someone tell me if the neck is shimmed since it is a non recessed floyd. I played one today and the neck felt and looked as if it was parallel to the body unlike my other Charvels which are noticibly angled? The action on the EVH also seemed kinda high and there was a noticible string buzz,but that could have just been new strings.

It does not appear to be shimmed. My action is very low with no fret buzz at all. The trem screws came fully screwed-in and I had to back them out to lessen the spring tension to my tastes. This guitar has the BEST intonation I've had- a barred Fmaj chord at the 13th is in perfect tune!!!

I did put 1" piece of black electricians tape under the trem to protect the finish.

The neck pocket has a 2 degree slope routed in it. Hence, no requirement for shimming to keep a low action

that is a great idea! every bolt-on i own is shimmed. it makes a nice difference.

hola Toru-san, RBW is my fav....is it because it's sooooo different than the others? Nope. It's because Bruce Nelson at Tom Anderson Guitarworks did the set-up!! Is it better than Sean S's? Nope. Just different. And yes, Bruce did put a small shim in the neck pocket to lower the action further.
