  • New Strat Head - and question about profile

Has anyone played a recently made Charevl Strat Head (one assembled say in the past 3 or 4 months)? For those that have I am wondering what you thought of the neck profile. I recently picked up a new one and absolutely love it. Best neck I have played to date..anyone else play a newer Strat Head.

Here is a pic of my new Pink Strat head...

Me too - love the MZ guitar.....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Ah man, that was you who picked up the MZ pink??!!

I was hoping a pink guitar would just languish there for awhile until I saved up the $$.

        Sheesh.

Now I'm going to go for the Shannon Pink at Fullers which only costs a few cents more. :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

Ahh, I wondered who picked up that one. Congrats. And glad to hear you liked the neck profile.

Still looking forward to getting mine.

I played the DeMartini bomber more than once. I think the backshape is a little thinner than my regular San Dimas(I played it a while ago and can't fully recall). It sure felt nice that is for sure.

They have changed the neck profile, the MZ Naturals were the start of the change, the stratheads from NAMM had a thinner profile

I looooooooove that pink strat. I *does* need a white p-up to have the full on Barbie vibe going, though. Congrats! I am envious.

I've had 3 MZ naturals (one from the first March/2006 batch, two from the Jun/July batch), in the end I kept one, but all had what I consider a perfect neck profile!

Thin but not too thin, sort of a "flattened D" profile, my favorite nut width of 1 11/16", I wouldn't say it is an exact duplicate of the old SD profile, at least not the 3 original SD's I've owned (granted, one of these was a AH, so the comparison doesn't apply), but the fact that it is just a bit thicker makes it even more comfortable for me, and probably helps tone-wise.

I was wondering who got the pink one. I had not been checking the web sites lately and missed it by a day or two - I would have bought that bad boy on the spot!!

Congrats and glad to here it rocks!

If the Custom Shop starts making these stratheads in single colors or non-cartoon graphics, I'm all over them. Basswood bodies, stratheads, slightly bigger necks than the SDs. So far, I've only seen two of these though, the oink one and the blue one down at Drum City.
