or let's say you play in a 80's cover band, and you have a one guitar, and you have to play a Whitesnake tune, Sykes lead tone (let's say for Is This Love) without neck pup and tone controll.....never gonna happen

Very true, any cover band for that matter. Also tough to get a good clean tone with just a bridge pickup IMO.
